Lunchtime Supervisor job summary

About Our School and Windsor Academy Trust

Welcome to our dedicated school team. We are a dynamic and inclusive community of professionals who play a crucial role in the daily success of our educational environment. Our staff are deeply committed to providing the operational excellence required to support our teachers and students, ensuring our school is a safe, welcoming, and highly effective place to learn and work.

We are incredibly proud to be part of the Windsor Academy Trust family. Working within the Trust means you benefit from shared expertise, wider opportunities, and a powerful network of support. This collective power allows us to focus relentlessly on our shared moral purpose: unlocking the academic and personal potential of every child, while ensuring our staff thrive.

About the Role

As a Lunchtime Supervisor, operating under the direction of Senior Leaders, you will work as an integral part of our team to provide for the safe supervision and welfare needs of students during the lunchtime period. You will play a vital part in promoting a positive, healthy, and safe environment for all students, ensuring all activities align with the overarching vision and values of Windsor Academy Trust.

Your daily impact will include:

  • Student Welfare and Supervision: Supervising activities and maintaining the health, safety, welfare, and good conduct of students, while always having due regard for any additional needs.

  • Promoting Positive Behaviour: Positively endorsing good behaviour, polite table manners, and positive social skills, treating all students in a fair, patient, and firm manner. You will also actively encourage students to select and eat healthy, balanced meals.

  • Environment and Hygiene: Assisting in the preparation and tidying up of supervised areas, cleaning up any spillages of food or liquid, wiping down dining tables between meals, and ensuring assigned areas of the school grounds are cleared of litter on a daily basis.

  • Issue Resolution and Care: Swiftly resolving straightforward issues (such as mediating minor disagreements between children), administering basic first aid when necessary, and referring more serious matters to senior lunchtime staff.

  • Safeguarding and Ethos: Upholding our responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, complying strictly with policies relating to child protection, health and safety, security, and confidentiality.

About You We are looking for a highly organised and collaborative professional who:

  • Possesses strong operational, administrative, or technical expertise relevant to the school environment.

  • Thrives in an agile team and is always looking for ways to improve school systems and efficiencies.

  • Deeply understands that every role, whether in an office or a classroom, plays a vital part in unlocking student potential.
