Lunchtime Supervisor job summary

We are seeking to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisor who is hard working an enthusiastic to join our team to ensure the welfare and safety of all children during lunch times.

The school is a one form entry primary in Stourport-on-Severn, which serves a mixed catchment area.

  • To carry out duties in a manner which promotes equality of opportunity, dignity and due respect for all.
  • To supervise children who use catering facilities at the school.
  • To help children partake of food when necessary, encouraging good table manners.
  • To undertake ancillary duties as necessary (ie setting up and clearing away tables, cleaning tables and dining area).
  • To encourage co-operative play and to initiate playtime games with groups of children.
  • To use initiative in monitoring events occurring on the school premises and grounds.
  • To report any relevant matters or dangers to the SLT or Business Manager.
  • To ensure a safe environment (eg by reporting broken glass through the defect reporting system).
  • To attend to first aid issues (ie cuts, bruises), with a handover to the teacher as appropriate.
  • To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff in their development and training.
  • To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.
  • To undertake health and safety duties commensurate with the post and/or as detailed in the school’s Health & Safety Policy.
