What skills and experience we're looking for

Allens Croft Primary School is a diverse, fully inclusive two-form entry school, with three Resource Base classes, set in extensive grounds in the Kings Heath area of Birmingham. We are looking to appoint two committed, enthusiastic, self-motivated, reliable and caring Lunchtime Supervisors. As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will play an important role in ensuring that our children have a safe, happy and enjoyable lunchtime. You will help to create a positive environment where children can eat, play and socialise, while supporting their wellbeing and encouraging positive behaviour.

The job purpose is to supervise children during lunchtime and outdoor play, helping create rich, varied play opportunities that are safe but appropriately challenging. You will play an active role in promoting positive behaviour, encouraging creative and independent play, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all pupils.

Previous experience of working with children would be desirable, but full training and support will be provided for the right candidate.

There are two roles on a 1-year fixed contract, term time only, 7.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working hours to be confirmed.

We’re looking for people that are able to:

• Supervise children in the dining hall and playground
• Encourage positive behaviour and support school rules
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children
• Assist with mealtime routines and hygiene practices
• Work collaboratively with other staff members
• Communicate effectively with children and staff with a good standard of spoken and written English
• Remain calm and supportive when dealing with challenging situations
• Understand the importance of safeguarding and keeping children safe
