Lunchtime Support and Play Assistant job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and reliable Lunchtime Support and Play Assistant to work in our Infant and Junior Schools. This role is essential in ensuring a positive, sociable and safe lunchtime experience for our children in both the dining and play areas. We are flexible on the number of working days per week that you can offer, please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Actively engage with children in the lunch hall, supervising and supporting them during meal times
- Maintain orderly conduct in the lunch hall and clear tables as needed.
- Initiate and supervise fun, safe play activities during lunch breaks.
- Set up and clear away play equipment.
- Ensure children of all abilities enjoy their lunchtime, adapting to individual needs.
- Work outside in all weather conditions, ensuring outdoor play remains safe and enjoyable.
For this role you will need
- Experience working within an education setting (Highly Desirable)
- Up to date First Aid Training (Highly Desirable)
- School based references from the last 2 years (Desirable)
- A DBS on the update service or happy to complete a new one (Required)
The right candidate will have
- Previous childcare experience.
- Comfortable working with children of varying needs and abilities.
- A proven ability to work on your own initiative.
- Reliable and a good timekeeper.
- A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
- The ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
- A can-do attitude.
- Flexible and a team player.
- Physically fit with good stamina.
Hours
- The role is term-time only (39 weeks per year)
- Fixed Term contract until August 2025
- 1 hour 15 minutes a day: currently 12:10 to 13:25.
- Up to 4 days a week which must include a Friday.
Salary
- Surrey PS3 (FTE £23,567)
- £12.55 hourly rate
- 5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, £2,816.00 per annum Pro Rata
