Pastoral Support Officer (Maternity Cover)

We are seeking an exceptional Pastoral Support Officer join our dedicated team at Stratford Girls' Grammar School. This is a maternity cover role, expected to be until c. March 2026 that will include being the initial point of contact for students, triaging and providing the support and guidance needed, managing our Year 7 admissions processes, and providing support to the wider Pastoral and Well-being team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral support to students in Years 7-11, ensuring their emotional and behavioural needs are met.
  • Provide pastoral administration to all aspects of the main school, including Y7 admissions.
  • Monitor attendance and work closely with staff to promote punctuality.
  • Administer first aid and support students with medical conditions.
  • Collaborate with Heads of House and external agencies to ensure student welfare.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with various administrative tasks.
  • Administer all aspects of the main school (Years 7-11), including Y7 and in-year admissions and supporting the Heads of House in their pastoral responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with the ability to quickly build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
  • Experience in a similar pastoral or administrative role within an educational setting
  • Proficient in using IT systems and software, including Management Information Systems
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Willingness to undergo relevant training and professional development
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Desirable Qualities:

  • Knowledge of Bromcom attendance and behaviour management systems
  • Experience in providing first aid and supporting student welfare
  • Familiarity with school administrative processes and procedures
