Marketing, Communications and Lettings Officer job summary

Kick-start your career in marketing with this exciting opportunity! Ideal for a recent graduate, this role combines leading our school’s marketing social media and communications efforts with managing external lettings of our facilities. You’ll help boost our public profile, support pupil recruitment, and generate valuable income—making a real impact from day one.

You will work closely with the Headteacher and Partnerships Lead, and will get the opportunity to accompany staff and students on trips and at events. This varied role will come with autonomy and creative license and is a great opportunity to boost your portfolio and experience.

Reports to: Headteacher & School Business Manager

Type of Position: Permanent

Hours of work: Full Time, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Term Time + 5 days.

Salary: E1 to E6 £26,293 to 31,094 FTE. Actual £22,995 to £27,193

Location: Onsite, Guildford GU1 1JY

Main Duties / Responsibilities

Marketing & Promotion

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the school’s vision, values, and achievements.

  • Create engaging content for newsletters, prospectuses, and promotional materials.

  • Support pupil recruitment through open events and digital campaigns.

Digital & Social Media
  • Manage and grow the school’s presence on social media platforms.

  • Maintain and update the school website, ensuring content is current and compliant.

  • Monitor analytics and engagement to inform future content and strategy.

Communications
  • Draft and distribute newsletters and parent communications.

  • Ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.

Events & Community Engagement
  • Support the planning and promotion of school events such as open days, performances, and outreach.

  • Capture and share highlights from school life through photography, video, and storytelling.

Lettings Coordination
  • Manage bookings and enquiries for external lettings of school facilities.

  • Liaise with hirers to ensure smooth operation and compliance with school policies.

  • Maintain accurate records of lettings and ensure timely invoicing and payments.

  • Promote the school’s facilities to potential hirers through marketing and outreach.

Brand Management
  • Uphold and develop the school’s visual identity and tone of voice.

  • Ensure all materials and communications align with the school’s brand guidelines.
