Required for September 2025

Full time

Do you want to be a part of an exciting forward-looking school with a strong reputation, catering for students from year 7 through to year 13?

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher of Mathematics for September 2025 to join this flourishing and highly successful Faculty. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach across the 11-16 age range. The ability to teach at A Level would be an advantage, as would the ability or experience of teaching Further Maths. This post would be particularly suitable for ECT’s.

Longdean School is a good school (Ofsted November 2019). We strive for excellence by teaching and preparing our young people to have confidence, to accept and respond to challenges, to have an enduring passion for learning and to become independent thinkers with respect for themselves and others.

Longdean School is proud to work within Scholars’ Education Trust.

Diversity: Scholars’ Education Trust is fully committed to the principles of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion. We want to attract and retain the very best staff in all areas of the trust, ensuring our staff body reflects the diversity of our students and local community.

Further details and an application form are available from HR at hr@scholarseducationtrust.co.uk, the Trust website www.scholarseducationtrust.co.uk

or on 01727 734424.

Closing date: 10 February 2025 (9am)

Interview date: TBC

We reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.

Scholars’ Education Trust is an equal opportunities employer. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Declaration of criminal offences

The trust is required to give you the opportunity to voluntarily declare convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings that are not ‘protected’ as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020). You will be provided with a criminal self-declaration form by the school if you are shortlisted for the post. All posts in schools are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. If you are appointed you will be required to have an up to date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate. The existence of a criminal background does not automatically mean that you cannot be appointed but it may do so.

Commitment to safeguarding

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.

Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.

Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant):
childcare disqualification
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)

suitability to work with children

You must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
