Maths Mentor job summary
The Walderslade & Greenacre Schools Partnership are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the team as a Maths Mentor. As a Maths Mentor you will play a crucial role in helping students develop a deep understanding and appreciation for Maths.
As a Maths Mentor, you will need to be passionate about supporting young people and committed to helping close attainment gaps, particularly for those who need extra support in building confidence with Maths. This role is ideal if you're considering a career in teaching but are not yet at teacher training level.
You will need to be a strong team player, organised, and confident with administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the department. Creativity is also key—you’ll be responsible for the visual representation of the Maths department, designing engaging displays and resources that inspire students.
Most importantly, you will need to be dedicated to putting students' needs at the heart of every decision you make, working collaboratively with staff to ensure all learners have the opportunity to succeed.
A good standard of education is essential, along with experience of working with children of a relevant age. You will inspire students to embrace Maths, overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
In return, we will offer you:
- An incredibly supportive group of colleagues and leaders
- Comprehensive induction programme with a commitment to CPD
- Care First employee assistance programme
- Non-contributory membership of Benenden private health care cover
- Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme
- Two-week half term in October
- Cycle to Work Scheme
