Maths Teacher (with potential for Middle Leadership) job summary

The Quay
School is an OFSTED rated Outstanding, National Teaching School Hub and a
progressive educational establishment that supports young people through
difficult times in their lives. Our different sites provide for very different
needs, and we are currently looking to employ a Maths Teacher.

You will specialise in Maths, to help students
achieve learning and behaviour targets as specified in Individual Programmes,
setting high expectations which inspire, motivate and
challenge.

You will plan and teach well-structured lessons to
assigned classes, following the school’s plans, curriculum and schemes of work
and assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and
achievements of assigned students, making accurate and productive
use of assessment.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has Qualified Teacher status
  • Is a highly
    motivated professional who can form positive relationships with students and
    parents.
  • Is flexible, and
    passionate about helping young people reach their full potential, and able to

  • Can demonstrate
    previous successful work within an educational setting or similar, preferably
    with students with additional needs.
  • Is
    confident in setting, monitoring and reviewing personalised targets that will
    optimise learning for every student.
  • Can oversee
    students working on individual programmes and in small groups.
  • Can contribute to school
    planning and self-evaluation with their grassroots knowledge.
  • Is wanting to develop their
    skills by participating
    in professional development programmes
  • Can
    be flexible at times to meet the needs of the school.
