Mealtime job summary
Are you caring, enthusiastic and passionate about supporting children? We are looking to appoint a dedicated Mealtime Assistant to join our friendly team at Mount Street Primary School.
This is a rewarding opportunity to play an important role in ensuring our children have a safe, enjoyable and positive lunchtime experience. Working closely with school staff, you will support children in the dining hall and playground, encouraging positive behaviour, healthy eating and inclusive play.

About the Role
As a Mealtime Assistant, you will:
- Supervise children during lunchtime in the dining hall and playground.
- Promote positive behaviour, good manners and healthy eating habits.
- Encourage active and inclusive play, ensuring all children feel involved.
- Support children's safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Respond appropriately to minor accidents and concerns.
- Help maintain a clean and welcoming lunchtime environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to uphold the school's values and ethos.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Enjoys working with children and helping them succeed.
- Has a caring, calm and friendly approach.
- Is reliable, flexible and able to work as part of a team.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality.
- Can support positive behaviour and build positive relationships with children.
- Has experience working with children, either professionally or in a voluntary capacity.
A First Aid qualification and previous experience in a school setting would be advantageous but are not essential.
