Mealtime Assistant - Rydon Primary School

Part-Time | Term-Time Only

Rydon Primary School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Mealtime Assistant to join our friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to play an important role in ensuring that lunchtime is a safe, happy, and positive experience for all pupils.

As a Mealtime Assistant, you will supervise children during lunch breaks, supporting them in the dining hall and playground while encouraging positive behaviour, good manners, and healthy eating habits. You will help create an inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising pupils during lunchtime in the dining hall and outdoor play areas.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging respect for others.
  • Supporting children with their meals and encouraging healthy eating.
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of all pupils during the lunchtime period.
  • Organising and encouraging positive play activities.
  • Assisting with setting up and clearing away dining hall equipment.
  • Reporting any concerns, accidents, or incidents to appropriate staff.
  • Following safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times.
