Midday Meals Supervisor job summary

St Nicholas CE Primary Academy are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Midday Meal Supervisor to join our team. This is a rewarding role supporting pupils during the lunchtime period to ensure a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment.

About the Role

You will supervise pupils in the dining hall, playground, and classrooms (for wet play), helping to maintain good behaviour, encourage positive play, and support pupils’ wellbeing throughout the midday break.

This post is for 5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only (38 weeks).

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support pupils during lunch and playtime
  • Encourage positive behaviour and safe play
  • Assist with setting up and clearing the lunch area
  • Respond to minor incidents and follow school procedures
  • Ensure pupils’ safety and wellbeing at all times

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly, patient, and enjoys working with children
  • Calm, reliable, and able to communicate clearly
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential. Training will be provided.
