About us and the role
We are seeking an organised and approachable Midday Supervisor to support the health, safety and wellbeing of pupils at Avanti Park Primary School during lunchtimes.
You will supervise children across the dining room, playground and other areas of the school, encouraging positive and respectful behaviour and helping to create an environment where pupils can enjoy their lunchtime safely.
You will play an important role in supporting children to engage in purposeful and co-operative activities, while providing a calm, consistent and positive presence throughout the lunchtime period. You will also be expected to respond appropriately to any accidents, injuries, illness or safeguarding concerns, following the school’s policies and procedures and keeping relevant staff informed.

What will you do?
- Supervise pupils throughout the lunchtime period, including in the dining room, playground and during wet lunchtimes, ensuring their health, safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Encourage positive, purposeful and co-operative behaviour, acting as a positive role model and supporting pupils to enjoy a safe and engaging lunchtime.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children in line with school policies and procedures, including responding appropriately to accidents, injuries, illness and safeguarding concerns
- Monitor and report pupil behaviour, health and safety concerns and any other relevant information to the appropriate member of staff, taking prompt action where required.
- Follow all school and Trust policies and procedures, including behaviour, child protection and health and safety requirements, and participate in relevant training.
What are we looking for?
- Ability to work as part of a team, form good relationships with other colleagues to ensure effective lunchtime supervision
- Appropriate knowledge of first aid
- To be able to ensure the health and safety of all pupils at all times and following process for reporting incidents
- To be able to deal fairly and consistently when dealing with the children
- Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
