Midday Supervisor job summary

A little of your time could make a big difference to a child's day!

Do you enjoy working with children, have a friendly and positive approach, and love helping young people feel happy, safe and included? If so, we'd love to hear from you!

We're looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Midday Supervisor to join our school community and help make lunchtimes a positive, enjoyable experience for every pupil.

Lunchtime is about much more than just eating! It's an important part of the school day when children develop friendships, build confidence, learn to work together and, of course, have some fun.

As part of our friendly school team, you'll play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming and supportive environment where every child feels valued.

What will you be doing?
  • Supervising and supporting pupils during lunchtime, both in the dining areas and around the school.

  • Encouraging positive behaviour, kindness, inclusion and cooperation.

  • Helping children develop independence and good social skills.

  • Supporting pupils during mealtimes and ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

  • Making lunchtimes a happy, safe and enjoyable part of the school day.

What are we looking for?

You don't need to have worked in a school before. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being around children and can bring patience, warmth and a positive attitude to the role.

You'll be a great communicator, a supportive team player and someone who can use their initiative when needed. Most importantly, you'll understand that even the smallest interactions can make a lasting difference to a child's day.

The important details

Salary: Band 1, SCP 3

Actual annual salary: £5,090 per annum

Hours: 8.75 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

Contract: Permanent, part-time

Why join us?

As part of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust, you'll be joining a supportive family of schools committed to helping every child flourish.

We offer a range of benefits, including access to professional development opportunities, a generous Local Government Pension Scheme, an Employee Assistance Programme and the opportunity to be part of a welcoming and caring school community.

Ready to make a difference, one lunchtime at a time?

If you're someone who enjoys working with children and wants a rewarding role that fits around the school day, we'd love to receive your application.

Come and help us make every lunchtime a great one!
