Midday Supervisor Assistant job summary
Hillside Primary and Nursery School is looking to appoint a Midday Supervisor Assistant to join our team and provide a stimulating and caring environment for our children during lunchtimes. We are looking for someone who shares our vision and enthusiasm and wants to play a key role in shaping the educational experience of our children, enabling each of them to thrive.
Lunchtime duties include helping to promote good eating habits while supervising the children in the dining area, caring for their health, safety, and welfare both in the dining area and on the playground. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young children and can build positive relationships with them.
You will be able to manage, organise, and take part in positive play activities with our children. We are looking for someone who:

Your core duties will be:
- Supervising pupils in the dining hall
- Ensuring that the overall arrangement for children to dine promotes an orderly and pleasant meal service
- Supervising the return of used trays, crockery, and cutlery by the children
- Ensuring that tables are left clean for the next occupancy
- Ensuring dining areas are left clean and tidy
- Arranging supervision to allow movement amongst the children within the area covered
- Ensuring acceptable standards of behaviour are maintained
- Minimising the likelihood of children hurting themselves, others, or damaging property
- Supervising pupils in classrooms during bad weather
- Attending safeguarding training as required by the school and maintaining your knowledge and understanding of your responsibility for safeguarding children in this school
