Midday Supervisor job summary
At Oakthorpe Primary School, we are proud to be a welcoming, family-centred school where our ethos of Dream, Believe, Achieve underpins everything we do. As a Midday Supervisor, you will play an important role in supporting our children during the lunchtime period, helping to create a safe, positive and enjoyable environment where all pupils feel valued, included and cared for. The school places great importance on nurturing children to flourish and succeed, supported by strong relationships, character development and a caring community atmosphere.
We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and caring individual who enjoys working with children and understands the importance of positive role modelling. The successful candidate will supervise pupils in the dining hall, playground and other designated areas, encouraging good behaviour, promoting positive social interaction and ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of all children throughout the lunchtime break. You will support pupils in developing independence, cooperation and respect for others, whilst helping to resolve minor disputes and encouraging active, inclusive play.
The role requires someone who can work effectively as part of a team, communicate confidently with both children and colleagues, and remain calm and professional in a busy environment. You will contribute to maintaining a safe and orderly lunchtime experience, administering basic first aid where appropriate and following school policies and procedures to safeguard children at all times.
In return, you will become part of the supportive team at Oakthorpe Primary School, a school at the heart of its community where every member of staff plays a vital role in helping children achieve their full potential. If you share our commitment to creating a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to dream big, believe in themselves and achieve success, we would love to hear from you.
