Midday Supervisor job summary

Our Lady of the Magnificat MAC are looking to recruit a Midday Supervisor. This role will be based at St Thomas More Catholic First School. This is a part-time position, working 7.5 hours per week, on a term time only basis (38 weeks per year). This is a fixed term appointment until 31st August 2025.

The successful candidate will:

  • Prepare the dining area for lunch, including setting out chairs and tables.
  • Supervise toileting and washroom activities.
  • Escort children to and from the dining room.
  • Supervise the collection of meals and assist pupils with the use of cutlery.
  • Assist pupils with returning used plates, trays, cutlery, and glasses/beakers, as well as clearing tables.
  • Supervise pupils eating packed lunches and ensure all equipment is cleared away.
  • Oversee classroom and outdoor activities, encouraging inclusion and positive interaction.
  • Ensure an orderly return to the classroom after lunch.
  • Attend to minor accidents or pupils who feel unwell, providing care as needed.
  • Report to the Senior Midday Supervisor (SMDS) if an accident occurs or a pupil becomes ill.
  • Monitor pupil behaviour and intervene as necessary, in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Inform the SMDS of any breaches of school rules.
  • Candidates must enjoy working with children.
