St Mary’s in Beetley are looking to offer the opportunity for a friendly and enthusiastic Midday Supervisory Assistant to join our existing team in September 2026.
We are looking for someone who is proactive and uses initiative. The successful candidate would ideally have had previous experience working with children while understanding the need to supervise them and being able to relate well with them.
Skills/knowledge
- Able to communicate with children and adults
- Able to exert authority and give directions/instructions in a confident manner
- Understanding the varied needs of children
- Flexibility and approachability
Main responsibilities will include:
- Supervision of children in all areas of the school, including the dining room, play areas and classroom as directed by the Headteacher in order to ensure the safety and good behaviour of the children.
- Supervision of children during the meal to ensure that a good atmosphere is maintained.
- Encourage good eating habits and assisting younger children where necessary.
- General assistance in the dining area as necessary, e.g. wiping up spillages to ensure a safe and ordered environment is maintained at all times.
- Set up and clearing away tables in dining hall.
- Supervision of children on the playgrounds or in classrooms
Details of the role:
Term time only Monday - Friday
11.45am - 1.15pm
