What skills and experience we're looking for

Castle School, Cambridge A community special school for pupils aged 2–19 with complex learning needs Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience) Contract: Permanent | Start: April 2026 (or earlier by negotiation)

Music is a much-loved part of our curriculum, enriching communication, regulation, wellbeing and joy. We are seeking a passionate Music Teacher to lead inspiring learning across all pathways and to develop our Castle Choir, sharing performance opportunities across the school and wider community.

The Role

We are looking for a teacher who:

ü Believes every child and young person can experience and create music

ü Can plan and deliver engaging music sessions for pupils with a wide range of needs

ü Uses creative tools such as sensory instruments, voice, music technology, Makaton/Singalong, AAC and rhythm-based communication

ü Will lead and develop our Castle Choir, supporting inclusive performances and celebrations

This role suits a primary, secondary music specialist teacher, including those looking to move into the SEND sector.

We welcome applications from newly qualified or experienced teachers.
