What skills and experience we're looking for

Due to the well-deserved retirement of our exceptional current Nursery teacher, the Governors of Rudyard Kipling Primary School and Nursery wish to appoint an experienced and passionate Nursery teacher. The successful candidate will be dedicated to nurturing young learners through a continuous provision approach and value the rich opportunities that outdoor learning provides.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and qualified EYFS teacher who will:

  • Lead learning in our Nursery, creating a warm, structured and language rich environment
  • Plan and deliver a dynamic curriculum that reflects the DfE’s ‘Strong Foundations’ principles
  • Build trusting, positive relationships with children and their families, creating a welcoming and supportive environment
  • Confidently observe and record children’s development to inform planning and targeted support
  • Create a stimulating, inviting learning environment that fosters curiosity, exploration and a love of learning
  • Understand nursery admission practices to support smooth transitions for children and families
  • Communicate positively and effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and external professionals, working proactively with the Inclusion Team and other agencies
  • Inspire and instil key learning behaviours from the start of the academic year, setting a strong foundation for success
  • Be an enthusiastic educator who engages and motivates young minds with creativity and energy
  • Hold high expectations for all pupils, delivering purposeful lessons that ensure excellent progress
  • Embrace continuous professional development to refine and enhance teaching practice
  • Use a broad range of adaptive teaching strategies, including outdoor learning, to challenge and support every child
  • Celebrate each child’s individuality and tailor teaching to meet their specific needs
  • Embed a nurturing philosophy and contribute positively as a collaborative team member
  • Establish positive relationships and work with other nurseries, including Kipling Lions

Work closely with the EYFS lead to ensure strong transition from Nursery to Reception
