Post Title: Nursery Teacher

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full time - 32.5 hours per week, for 39 weeks per year.

Scale Grade: MPS or UPS (depending on experience)

Based at: Sherwell Valley Primary School, Hawkins Avenue, Chelston, Torquay. TQ2 6ES

Organisation: Torbay Council

Closing date: 9am on Friday 8th July 2022

Start date: Preferably September however a start date of January 1st would be considered for the right candidate.

Are you a passionate and experienced nursery teacher looking for a new challenge? We are hoping to recruit a teacher to come and lead our nursery and make a very real difference to the life chances of the fantastic children that we serve. You will be supported by a highly professional and able team of nursery practitioners as well as a strong leadership team.

The right candidate for this post will be someone who understands early child development and knows how to create an outstanding nursery provision. You will also need to be someone who can lead others and inspire them to do the very best for the children in their care. In return you will be provided with an accredited leadership development program which will support you in growing both your teaching and management skills.

The successful candidate will have:

• Be forward thinking and able to work independently when required.
• Be able and confident to manage the established nursery team
• Experience of relevant safeguarding training
• Understanding of principles of early years child development and learning processes and barriers to learning.
• Must be an organised individual and manage the administrative demands of the role.
• Successful leadership and management experience in a school or other relevant organisation
