Office Administrator job summary

We are seeking a highly professional and enthusiastic Office Administrator to join our welcoming and ambitious primary school. As the first point of contact for parents, pupils and visitors, you will play a vital role in ensuring our school runs smoothly and continues to provide an exceptional experience for our community.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a small but growing school where every member of staff makes a meaningful contribution. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, has excellent communication skills and can provide outstanding administrative support to our staff, pupils and families. The successful candidate will:
  • Be the first point of contact for visitors, parents, email and telephone enquiries.
  • Provide administrative support to the school team.
  • Manage correspondence, emails and school communications.
  • Maintain accurate pupil and staff records using the school's management information system.
  • Support admissions processes and pupil transfers.
  • Assist with attendance monitoring and data entry.
  • Support the organisation of school events, trips and meetings.
  • Help manage school website updates and communications where required.
  • Ensure confidential information is handled professionally and securely.
  • Contribute to a positive, welcoming and professional office environment.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
  • Has excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Is friendly, approachable and professional.
  • Can communicate effectively with children, parents, staff and external agencies.
  • Can prioritise competing demands and remain calm under pressure.
  • Has strong IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Values teamwork and enjoys contributing to a strong school community.
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding.

Experience of working in a school office and familiarity with school systems such as Arbor would be advantageous but is not essential.
