Temporary Maternity Cover Office Manager (Grade 4) - From 21st September 2026 (up to one year).

Term Time + 2 Weeks, £26,824 - £29,540 FTE (£24,147 - £26,592 pro rata), pay award pending.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience working in a friendly, supportive school environment. We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Temporary Office Manager to join our dedicated team and play a key role in the smooth running of our school during a maternity leave period.

About the Role

The Office Manager is central to the effective operation of our school. You will provide a comprehensive range of high‑level administrative support, ensuring that staff, pupils, parents and visitors receive an exceptional service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Complex administrative tasks including sensitive correspondence, detailed reports and maintaining accurate records.
  • Financial management such as processing orders, reconciling accounts, monitoring budgets and handling cash.
  • Data and information systems including managing pupil information and completing statutory returns such as the school census.
  • Event and trip organisation including booking venues, arranging transport and overseeing financial arrangements.
  • Secretarial support for SLT and Governors, including agendas, minutes and diary management.
  • Line management of administrative colleagues.
  • Safeguarding responsibilities including reporting concerns and maintaining up‑to‑date training.
  • Payroll and personnel administration, including maintaining staff records.
  • Stock and procurement management, ensuring best value for the school.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys variety and takes pride in delivering high‑quality work.

  • Has strong IT skills, including Word, Excel and financial systems
  • Communicates clearly and professionally
  • Can interpret written instructions and work independently
  • Has experience with financial processes, data handling and confidential information
  • Is calm, positive, proactive and committed to supporting our school community
  • Has experience line managing or mentoring others (desirable)
