Operational Office Manager job summary

We are now seeking a proactive and highly organised Operational Office Manager to join our professional support team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a varied, fast-paced environment and who takes pride in ensuring that the school operates efficiently and effectively each day.

This role is a full-time, Monday to Friday, Term-time plus insets role

Reporting directly to the School Business Manager, the Operational Office Manager

will take a leading role in the organisation and management of the school’s administrative functions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Managing and developing efficient office systems and procedures.

Supervising and leading a team of administrative, clerical, and reprographics staff.

Providing high-level administrative and organisational support to the School Business Manager, Principal and Senior Leadership Team.

Managing pupil admissions, appeals, and school records.

Organising school trips, events, and key communications.

Supporting confidential HR processes, including recruitment, induction, and staff records.

Overseeing first aid and welfare arrangements for pupils during the school day.

Liaising effectively with staff, parents, and external partners to support the smooth running of the school.

Contributing to the planning and improvement of school operational systems and policies.

We are looking for a motivated and professional individual who:

Has proven administrative and organisational experience, ideally within an educational or similar setting.

Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills.

Can work with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Has excellent IT and data management skills.

Is proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities.

Experience in a school or educational setting would be beneficial, though not essential. This is a key support role within the college, offering the opportunity to make a real impact on the smooth running of our day-to-day operations.
