What skills and experience we're looking for

We seek to appoint an enthusiastic, fully flexible individual to work initially in our early years foundation stage. The successful applicant will be prepared to work inside and outdoors, providing occasional support in our Forest School environment, as well as across key stages, if required.

The successful applicant may be involved in supporting phonics learning: clear pronunciation of English is therefore essential.Ideally, candidates will have a minimum of 2 years’ TA experience in the last 5 years including phonics. Knowledge of working with children in an educational setting, of curriculum and learning strategies and an understanding of children's needs would be an advantage.Ideally, experience related to the role would be beneficial, but a willingness to train is key, along with being comfortable working under one’s own initiative.

Applicants must be good team players, with a positive can-do attitude. They must be educated to the equivalent of GCSE level including English and Maths at grades A-C.

What the school offers its staff

Pulford School offers a happy and inclusive, nurturing environment for both staff and pupils. The role is offered initially for a fixed-term contract but this may be extended in due course.

Should the child this role supports leave the school earlier than expected, the role may cease, subject to 2 month's notice.

Commitment to safeguarding

Pulford is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check will be required for all roles.
