Part-Time Learning Support / Lunchtime Assistant - Fixed Term Contract x2 job summary

We are a thriving Church of England, Voluntary Aided lower school in a beautiful setting in Leighton Buzzard. Our friendly team of staff are dedicated to providing outstanding teaching and learning within a nurturing Christian environment that brings out the best in our children.   Applicants are expected to support our Christian ethos. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school, which is recognised for the quality of its values and relationships.

For both positions, we seek to appoint an enthusiastic, fully flexible individual with a positive attitude.  Position one will work initially across our Key Stage 2 team as a Teaching Assistant.  On Thursdays and Fridays the individual will also work as part of our lunchtime team.  The successful applicant will be prepared to work inside and outdoors, providing occasional support in our Forest School environment, as well as across key stages, if required.   The second post will work in one of our Reception classes.

The successful applicants will be involved in delivering phonics interventions: clear pronunciation of English is therefore essential.  Ideally, candidates will have a minimum of 2 years’ TA experience in the last 5 years including phonics.  Knowledge of working with children in an educational setting, of curriculum and learning strategies and an understanding of children's needs would be an advantage.

The second role in one of our Reception classes will work Fridays only 8.30-1.30.  This is a general Teaching Assistant role until 12.00 and then lunchtime supervisor 12-1.30.

Applicants must be good team players, with a positive can-do attitude.  They must be educated to GCSE equivalent level including English and Maths at grades A-C.  Willingness to train is key, along with being comfortable working under one’s own initiative.

Pulford is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check will be required for all roles.
