Part Time Receptionist Administrator job summary
Part Time Receptionist Administrator: Monday – Friday 9:15am – 2:45pm; 27 hours and 30 minutes. 39 weeks, Term time only, plus 5 training days.
Pentland Field School is an all-through school that meets the educational needs of around 170 children and young adults aged 4-19 with a range of learning disabilities, including those who may be autistic and those who have physical or sensory needs.
We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and proactive Part-time Receptionist Administrator to join our Admin Team. We are looking for someone excited about the idea of working in a school environment for children with special needs and who wants to bring their knowledge, skills and passion to play an active part in our school community.

The Receptionist Administrator is the face of the school and first point of contact for visitors to the school, parents, staff and children. We are looking for someone who will be welcoming, personable, helpful and able to represent the School in a professional and friendly manner.
Providing excellent customer service is crucial, especially when it comes to supporting and nurturing our children. Their well-being and development are paramount, and every effort we make should be aimed at creating a positive and enriching environment for them.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is calm under pressure, remaining composed during busy periods of the school day
- Is a team player
- Is competent and has exceptional organisational, administrative and time management skills.
- Has competent computer skills. Is a competent and capable user of various IT systems. You will also be willing to learn how to operate our various software packages to allow the smooth running of both the school office and the wider school.
- Has a ‘can do’ attitude; enjoys taking the initiative, likes improving existing systems and who would thrive in making the role ‘their own’.
- Is able to manage the systems and processes in our busy school effectively
Whilst experience of working in an education setting is desirable. We would welcome applications from candidates with experience of working in a dynamic front facing environment and can demonstrate a positive, flexible attitude to their work. Location: The Eden Academy Trust (Pentland Field School). The Eden Academy may from time to time require an employee to be relocated temporarily or permanently to one of its other schools. Any proposal to relocate will be carried out with due consultation and reasonable notice.
