At The Hayling College, a small secondary school with a big vision, we are proud to serve around 545 students aged 11–16. We’re an award-winning, inclusive, and forward-thinking school where every student—and every team member—matters. We are currently looking for a Part-Time School Receptionist to join us on a maternity cover basis.

In this key front-facing role, you will:

  • Be the first point of contact for students, staff, parents, and visitors
  • Manage phone calls, emails, and reception enquiries with professionalism and care
  • Provide general administrative support to the school office and wider team
  • Help maintain a calm, welcoming reception area and uphold safeguarding procedures
  • Assist with student attendance and sign-in/out procedures as needed

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is confident, courteous, and approachable with excellent communication skills
  • Has strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
  • Can manage a busy front desk with efficiency and warmth
  • Is comfortable using IT systems (training provided)
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality, professionalism, and safeguarding
