Part Time Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for a part time (12 hours per week) Teaching Assistant (level 2) who, under the instruction & guidance of our wonderful teaching team, can undertake work, care and support programmes to assist in managing the students & classroom, whilst ensuring that every pupil has access to learning and is achieving their full potential. This position would suit a positive, energetic, proactive team-player who is enthusiastic about making a difference!

Responsibilities include:

• Attending to the pupils’ personal needs, and implementing related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
• Undertaking programmes linked to local and national learning strategies to support pupils to achieve learning goals, recording achievement & progress and feeding back to the teacher
• Supervising and providing particular support for pupils including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning
• Encouraging pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
• Creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans

Paulton Infant School is a three form entry school, situated in an expanding village, located to the north of the Mendip Hills serving the local community and surrounding areas. We are based on the same site as Paulton Junior School and share the same values and ethos. Apart from this, however, the Infant School operates entirely independently and is therefore able to focus teaching and learning, resources and management to meet the specific needs of four to seven year olds.



In October 2020, we joined The Partnership Trust; a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT). The Trust also has high expectations and an inclusive ethos and Trust leaders work closely together to ensure strong provision to nurture aspirations for all children within the MAT.
