Pastoral Administrator job summary

Position: Pastoral Administrator

Location: On site, Westbury-on-Trym BS9 3BA

Hours: This role is term-time plus 15 days to be worked during school holiday periods at the start and end of each term; normal working hours will be 10 hours per week.

The closing date for this position will be Monday 3rd November 2025

We are looking for an organised and empathetic Pastoral Administrator to support the school.


Primary responsibilities include:

Safeguarding Administration

• Co-ordinate the transfer of files for new pupils, requesting these from the pupil’s last school and ensuring they are received in a timely manner; arranging for files for leaving pupils to be sent to their next school


Boarding Administration

• Make arrangements for the annual boarding staff induction programme under the direction of the Assistant Head (Boarding).

• Maintain First Aid and Fire Safety training records for the boarding team and liaise with Bursary staff to arrange training as required


Additional

• Provide administrative support for the school exchange trips (two per year: Australia and New Zealand)

• Adopt a flexible approach during the first 3 to 4 weeks of each term when there will be a requirement to work additional hours.


To be considered for this position, we are looking for the following:

• Previous experience working within an education environment

• An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and the importance of confidentiality

• Flexibility to work additional hours at the start of each term

• Strong administrative skills with a high level of attention to detail
