Pastoral Manager job summary

We are looking to appoint an experienced Pastoral Manager who has high expectations, of themselves, has the ability to inspire, motivate and support pupils.

The position will be non-class based and will involve working closely with the Lead DSL, Behaviour Lead and school SENDCO in ensuring the necessary pastoral and academic support for children. The position will also involve ensuring the best possible outcomes for our children, particularly our most vulnerable including those with special educational needs or those that are in care.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Working directly with individuals or groups of children to raise self-esteem and confidence of children with a view to improve personal and social skills.
  • ·         Liaising with teaching staff and learning support staff on student support matters.
  • ·         Working with and reporting back to the Lead DSL, SENDCO and staff on individual children’s progress.
  • ·         Working closely with the behaviour lead to support with managing behaviour.
  • ·         Liaising with the Lead DSL for Safeguarding in relation to all concerns about students
  •           Working with the attendance lead and attendance officer to improve attendance of target children.
