Pastoral Manager (with responsibility for Enrichment and Outreach) job summary
Required to start in January 2026, 37 hours per week term time plus 5 days to be worked outside of term time in accordance with service requirements.
An experienced and qualified individual is required to work in partnership with Senior Staff, Heads of Year and Year Teams to provide pastoral support and guidance. To develop effective strategies within school to promote personal development and pupil wellbeing. The role will include intervention to provide high levels of pastoral care, managing behaviour issues and supporting high levels of academic attainment. This post requires a high level of communication skills and involves regular liaison with parents and outside agencies.
The role will also support pupil enrichment, working closely on extra-curricular activities and outreach links.
The remit of this post means that the post holder is required to work outside of and in excess of the ‘normal’ school day e.g. parental meetings or interviews might take place before school i.e. 8.00 a.m., after school i.e. 4.30 p.m. and certainly a requirement to attend Parents’ Evenings.
You must have excellent organisational and time management skills; be able to work independently using your own initiative as well as part of a team. Effective communication skills and an awareness of Health and Safety issues are essential.
