We are growing rapidly! With more pupils joining us and our curriculum expanding, we are building a dream team of passionate, resilient, and empathetic professionals. If you want a role where you can see the direct impact of your dedication every single day, we want to hear from you.
- The Role: Providing crucial administrative backing to our pastoral, attendance, and SEND teams. Based predominantly at one site (with occasional support at our other site), you’ll handle attendance, pupil records, and vital communication with families and external multi-agencies.
- Ideal Candidate: A welcoming communicator who possesses excellent organisational skills and a deep understanding of the sensitive nature of SEMH data.
What the school offers its staff
- A True Team Culture: We look after each other. You will be joining a fiercely supportive, laugh-together, cry-together team of professionals.
- Professional Development: Continuous training, including specialised trauma-informed and therapeutic practice approaches.
- A Growing School: Be part of shaping our new curriculum pathways and establishing a lasting legacy for Stockport’s young people.
- The Ultimate Reward: The breakthrough moments. Watching a young person rediscover their self-worth and succeed against the odds is a feeling like no other.

Windlehurst School caters for young people, aged 11 to 16 who have identified Social, Emotional or Mental Health difficulties. Many of our young people will have had a long history of failing to reach their potential in mainstream schools. Pupils may have been excluded from school or found the experience stressful. Much of this stress will also have been experienced by families of the young people. The aim of Windlehurst School is to re-engage these young people in their education, through well planned, engaging and appropriately differentiated lessons, designed to meet individual needs. They are taught in small groups with a high ratio of staff to pupils and in a supportive environment. Through our website, I hope you gain a better understanding of what we do at Windlehurst and what we believe. We are very proud of our school and what our young people achieve. We are delighted to share it with you - Chris Ormiston
