Pastoral Support Assistant x 2 (KS3 & KS4) job summary

Childwall Sports & Science Academy is seeking to appoint two committed and enthusiastic Pastoral Support Assistants to join our dedicated Pastoral Team. These roles will provide essential support to our Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, helping to ensure all pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Working as part of a supportive and experienced team, the successful candidates will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, improving attendance, and supporting student wellbeing across the academy.

This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to our pastoral and inclusion provision, supporting students to achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally. You will work closely with a designated year group, providing day-to-day pastoral support and acting as a key point of contact for students, parents/carers, and staff.

The role involves supporting behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing, working proactively to identify and address barriers to learning. You will contribute to targeted intervention strategies, build positive relationships with families, and collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral leaders, and external agencies to ensure students receive the right support at the right time.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with young people and supporting their development

  • Is confident managing behaviour and promoting positive attitudes to learning

  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Can build strong, professional relationships with students, families and colleagues

  • Is resilient, proactive and committed to making a difference

Childwall Sports & Science Academy is a vibrant, ambitious, and multi-cultural school. Our ambition is to be ‘outstanding’ in all areas and welcome your application to be part of that journey.

If you are passionate about supporting young people and want to play a vital role in their success, we would welcome your application.
