Pastoral Support Manager job summary

Pastoral Support Manager We pride ourselves on providing excellent pastoral care at Hylands so that every child can thrive and achieve the best possible outcomes. We have recently developed the Ambition Champion Programme to provide a champion for every disadvantaged child, to solve ‘life’ barriers to learning and engagement. The overarching aim being to close the gaps between disadvantaged pupils and their peers. As such we are expanding our pastoral team and we are looking to appoint a Pastoral Support Manager (PSM). PSMs manage behaviour, welfare and academic achievement of students within a designated year group. Working closely with students, parents and staff in setting high standards in all aspects of pupil behaviour, attitude and learning culture. The role requires someone who is experienced in working with behaviour with energy, enthusiasm, a calm manner, the ability to prioritise and a flexible working approach. They will be approachable, have sound people skills, strong written and verbal communication together with a ‘can do’ attitude. The post holder will act as a vital part of our fantastic pastoral team.
