Pastoral Support Worker with Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) responsibilities
St Aldhelm’s Academy is looking for an experienced Pastoral Support Worker to join a friendly, caring team of professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to support our young people as they develop the social and emotional skills they need to flourish in school.
The post will suit an experienced and qualified teaching assistant. However, we will consider applications from candidates with appropriate skills, passion and commitment and will provide the necessary training and support.
We are looking for a candidate who is:
- Highly committed, enthusiastic, flexible and skilled, who is passionate about supporting children’s learning.
- Able to show initiative and work independently and as part of a team
- Has excellent interpersonal skills
- Can communicate well with children and adults and who is able to gain the confidence of children
- Has a warm personality and is able to remain calm under pressure
- Is able to plan programmes of support and maintain accurate records of involvement
- Is able to demonstrate emotional literacy, empathy, be supportive and discreet.
