Arrangements: Part-Time - 22.5 hours per week, All-Year Round. We are open to discussing working days and hours and encourage candidates to raise any preferences at interview.
Actual Salary: £19,386.49 - Scale Group 10 Spine Points 37-40 (FTE £31,880)
FTE Holiday Entitlement: 25 days plus 9 bank holidays
About the Role
Matrix Academy Trust are seeking a committed and experienced Payments Manager to join our central team. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider trust teams, you will be responsible for managing payment processes, overseeing financial compliance, and line managing the Payments Administrator. This is a key role in ensuring that our financial operations run efficiently and effectively, supporting the Trust’s aim to provide exceptional education.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the Payments Administrator, ensuring robust procedures and compliance checks.
- Accountable for the accurate and timely payment of all goods and services to the Trust.
- Produce and approve BACS payment runs, ensuring all are processed in accordance with the Financial Procedures Manual.
- Handle supplier payment queries and provide resolution for complex issues.
- Manage purchasing card processes and online payment portals.
- Oversee aged creditor reports and monthly KPI reporting.
- Maintain accurate schedules for direct debits and recurring payments.
What we’re looking for
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a finance role.
- Proven success with payment runs and an understanding of financial systems and procedures.
- Strong IT skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting software (e.g. SAGE).
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
