About the Role
As Payroll Officer, you'll play a key role in ensuring colleagues across Discovery Trust are paid accurately, on time and in line with payroll legislation and Trust procedures.
Working closely with colleagues across the People Team, Finance Team, and our external payroll provider, you will coordinate the monthly payroll process, ensuring payroll information is accurately collated, checked and submitted within agreed deadlines. You will act as a trusted point of contact for payroll queries, providing a responsive, professional and customer focused service to schools and colleagues across the Trust.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with detail, building positive relationships and providing excellent customer service. You will be an important part of our People Team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Processing payroll changes, including new starters, leavers and contractual amendments.
- Liaising with schools and managers to ensure payroll information is accurate and submitted on time.
- Maintaining accurate employee and payroll records.
- Responding to payroll-related queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Supporting compliance with payroll legislation, policies and procedures.
- Working with payroll providers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Producing payroll reports and carrying out regular checks to ensure accuracy
We're Looking for Someone Who:
- Has experience in payroll, finance, HR administration or a similar administrative role.
- Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in accuracy.
- Enjoys providing a high-quality service and supporting others.
- Is organised and able to manage deadlines effectively.
- Communicates confidently with a range of stakeholders.
- Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Is proactive, solution-focused and keen to contribute ideas for improvement.
