Starting in September 2022, our school requires a PE Technician/Cover Supervisor to support, as a Technician, its large PE department, providing a range of practical, technical and administrative duties, and as a Cover Supervisor to deliver lessons primarily in PE but also in other departments, that have been set by absent teaching staff for a variety of Year groups. As mentioned above, some of the allocated PE Technician working time will involve hours outside of the normal school day, so a degree of flexibility is required.
The successful candidate will need to be adaptable, an excellent communicator and able to work independently. A teaching qualification is not required for this post but previous experience within education and a knowledge and interest in PE would be a distinct advantage.

The values within the school are grounded in the Christian faith based on love, compassion and respect for each other as well as the world we live in. The school is now ranked amongst the highest achieving comprehensive schools in the country. In August 2011 the Department for Education granted the school Academy status.
The school is heavily over-subscribed each year and provides for students of all abilities. It is justly proud of its academic achievements, in the GCSE examinations and A Level examinations of 2020. St. Aidan’s is also proud of the 40 plus students who have a Statement of Educational Needs and who thrive within the school.
The extra-curricular provision within St. Aidan’s complements the academic standards with Music ensembles (many of which are known nationally and internationally), Drama, Dance and Sport all playing major parts in the life of the school. A significant number of other clubs and societies take place at lunchtime or after school, and all students are encouraged to participate in these activities to ensure that a full and rounded education is provided. The list of achievements in all spheres of school life is endless and provokes much pride within all who work in the school.
