People and Culture Advisor job summary

Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives on building strong relationships and making a meaningful impact day to day? We’re looking for a People and Culture Advisor to join our friendly, forward-thinking team at Djanogly City Academy.

The role is an advisory role based in a busy secondary academy and will require the post holder to provide practical and solution-focused HR support to leaders and employees across the Academy. You’ll be the first point of contact for people related matters, working closely with school leaders and the Head of People and Culture on casework, employee relations, wellbeing, and policy implementation.

Due to the nature of the role, it will be predominantly based on site at Djanogly City Academy, with the flexibility of one day per week working from home. The role is advertised as 37 hours per week but we welcome applications from part time applicants. The role is term time plus 2 weeks.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience of providing HR advice and support in a fast-paced environment
  • A clear understanding of employment law and HR best practice
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with a range of people.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach
  • Passion for ensuring and developing a positive culture to enable employees to thrive
  • Confidence managing employee relations issues such as absence, conduct, performance, and grievance
  • Ideally CIPD qualified or working towards (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in an education or public sector setting is desirable but not essential
