What skills and experience we're looking for

Job/Person Summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly organised individual to join our team as People Operations and MIS Manager. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of HR processes, data management, and daily lesson cover across the College.

You will provide a comprehensive and confidential HR service, managing all aspects of HR administration including recruitment, contracts, payroll setup, and compliance checks. In addition, you will oversee the SIMS system, ensuring accurate timetabling and data submissions for statutory returns, and coordinate daily lesson cover arrangements, liaising with agencies when required.

We are looking for someone who is methodical, meticulous, and able to work under pressure with excellent attention to detail. Strong ICT skills and experience of SIMS or a similar MIS within a school setting are essential, along with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing HR systems and processes including absence recording, starters/leavers, and contractual changes.
  • Overseeing SIMS data management, timetables, and statutory returns (Pupil & Workforce Census).
  • Coordinating recruitment: advertising vacancies, arranging interviews, and completing pre-employment checks.
  • Acting as the nominated person for DBS checks and ensuring safeguarding compliance.
  • Producing HR reports and liaising with senior leadership and governors.
  • Managing daily lesson cover and liaising with supply agencies when required.
