Peripatetic Music Tutor (Singing) job summary
About the Department
You will be joining a thriving department with over 50 students currently taking individual instrumental and vocal lessons.
We pride ourselves on creating rich musical opportunities for our students, featuring a busy calendar of large-scale concerts, showcase events, and major school musical productions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, high-quality individual and small-group singing lessons across a range of genres (Musical Theatre, Classical, Pop, Contemporary).
- Prepare students for graded practical examinations (ABRSM, GCSE) and ensemble performances.
- Support student preparation for school musicals, choir performances, and annual concerts.
- Monitor student progress, set clear targets, and foster a strong lifelong love for music.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience teaching singing to secondary school students (Ages 11-18). (desirable)
- Strong keyboard or piano accompaniment skills (highly desirable).
- Versatility across musical styles, particularly Musical Theatre and Contemporary Vocal Styles.
- Degree in Music/Vocal Performance, Grade 8 or professional qualification. (essential)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one prior to start date).
