What skills and experience we're looking for
Essential
- Fully competent in the use of Microsoft Office programs – Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Excel. Knowledge of graphic design programs.
- Numerate and literate with a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a busy office
- Excellent Customer Service Skills; the ability to use discretion, patience, tact and respect for confidentiality in all circumstances; a good command of the English Language; an empathetic approach to different cultures
- A high level of computer skills. Familiarity with Microsoft applications, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook, and have internet skills. Design skills would be an advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload, use initiative and be self-motivating
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, in person, telephone and written
Desirable
- Previous experience of working in a school, with knowledge of SIMS, education processes and procedures would be highly advantageous

Further details about the role
Arnold Hill Spencer Academy are looking to appoint a full-time, permanent Personal Assistant to the Principal and Officer Manager (term-time plus 3 weeks). This role is pivotal in supporting the Principal and ensuring the smooth operation of the Academy. You will provide a secretarial and administrative service to the Principal and other senior staff, and be responsible for managing the office administration team.
The ideal candidate will be a highly organised, forward looking, flexible and provide a high standard of secretarial and administrative support. This is a busy role, and you will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs and priorities of the Principal. The role will suit someone with excellent time management, communication and IT skills and a proven track record of providing high level PA support at a senior level, preferably in a school.
