Piano Tutor (Self-Employed) job summary

You will join a friendly and supportive team of 16 peripatetic teachers and be welcomed into the Music Department. Our teachers are highly regarded in the music world and perform regularly alongside their teaching.
About the role
The role will involve teaching students one-on-one in a range of styles. Experience of providing piano tuition and an ability to teach to Grade 8 and above is expected, as is experience of preparing students for their ABRSM exams, as well as GCSE and A Level performances.
Person specification
- Previous piano tuition experience required
- The ability to teach to Grade 8 piano and above
- Friendly and enthusiastic
- Has a passion for piano
- Experience preparing students for ABRSM exams
- Able to provide a reliable, consistent service (regularity of teaching days)
- Performance experience
- Music graduate or well-qualified in Music education/performance
- Excellent planning skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate students

Hours
Initially 7 hours teaching per week on a Thursday or a Friday, with the opportunity to expand depending on student demand. The ideal candidate would be able to offer regularity of service and provide 30 lessons throughout the year, split across 3 terms as set by the School on a regular set day each week between 8am and 3:30pm. Although we require the teaching day to be set, some flexibility can be offered occasionally. Hourly rate: £40 per hour, paid by the School monthly.
