Play Leader job summary

We’re looking for a Play Leader to lead and manage our brand new after-school club. We are looking for someone who is dedicated and hardworking, who is passionate about working with children and knows how to have fun as well as being organised and able to be part of a lead a small team. We will give you all the training you need so you will need to be keen to learn and commit to training.

The hours required will be from 2.30 pm until 6.30pm. You will be organising and leading the activities for the after-school club with admin time built in daily.

The successful candidate will work closely with the leadership team to ensure our after school play and learning is always a high standard.

The successful applicant will:

Lead, support and supervise the promotion of positive and creative play

Lead on the setting up and organisation of equipment and resources for the children

Maintain, organise and carry out the replenishment of resources

Purchase resources as required

Seek funding sources

Collect resources (e.g., by contacting supermarkets and businesses, visiting shops for offcut materials etc)

Attend relevant training as required.

Support the school’s Behaviour Policy and ensure that it is implemented effectively.

Attend to the health, welfare and safety of the children adhering to the school Health and Safety policy and procedures at all times

This role requires an enhanced DBS certificate with barred lists check.

Desirable qualifications

This role doesn’t require any specific qualifications, but it’s even better if you have:

First aid and safeguarding training for children

Experience working with primary school aged children

Level 3 Play Leader Qualification
