What skills and experience we're looking for

The core purpose of the role will be to assist in the day to day organisation of the Before and After School provision at Bolshaw Primary School providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 4- 11 years old in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.

We are looking for a highly motivated, highly skilled individuals who can competently use their initiative and work within a professional team of staff.

Candidates will be required to have recent experience of working with children and excellent references of employment. Qualifications are required such as a Level 3 qualification in play work and pediatric first aid qualification is required.

The successful candidates will:

  • Have the ability to use their own initiative and work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and management
  • Have a thorough understanding of Ofsted and EYFS standards
  • Have relevant qualifications in childcare, paediatric first aid and safeguarding.
  • Be approachable and friendly with all pupils, parents and staff
  • Be able to plan and deliver a range of play opportunities available to children
  • Have awareness of basic health and safety and the safeguarding issues involved both on and off site
  • Be able to build good working relationships with children, parents and staff
  • Listen to children whilst encouraging independence skills
  • Be able to use their imagination and be creative
  • Have experience of supervising children
  • Be prepared to set up and clear up play equipment in readiness for the following session
