What skills and experience we're looking for

We seek enthusiastic, positive people who work well with children, staff and parents, and can remain calm when there is lots going on!

You will work as part of a team to run Belleville Primary School’s new ‘wraparound’ provision (breakfast club and after school club) which will start running in September 2025.

This will involve supporting children to participate in engaging and enriching activities, and making sure they follow relevant policies and procedures to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

You will have

  • experience of working with children of primary school age
  • an understanding of good quality childcare
  • an understanding of safeguarding and child protection duties
  • the ability to engage children in fun and developmental activities
  • empathy, sensitivity and great communication skills
  • high expectations of yourself and others.

This is a brand new provision, and an exciting development for the school.

The role will involve:

  • Providing care for the children attending the programme, supervising them during activities and when eating, and ensuring they feel safe and looked after at all times.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour (“Making the Right Choices”), independence and self-esteem.
  • Making sure equipment is set up, used, maintained and put away safely.
  • Ensuring the safe transfer of children to class (after breakfast club) or collection (after school).

At Q1E, we believe that “the quality of an education system cannot exceed the quality of its teachers” (McKinsey 2007). The recruitment, retention and development of high quality teachers is our highest priority.

Staff wellbeing is very important to us. We provide clear structures, excellent resources and outstanding professional development for our staff. All teachers new to the Trust receive pre-induction training before starting in post.
