We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Playworker to support our after-school wrap-around care provision. This role will be key in ensuring a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable environment for children aged 3 - 11 during the after-school hours. Hours of work, Monday to Friday 3pm to 5.15pm in the first instance, (please note this post may be reviewed if there is a need to extend the provision to 5.45pm).

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Support with the daily running of the after-school club: 

This includes delivering engaging activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, and maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

  • Prepare healthy and nutritious snacks for the children. 

This will involve basic food preparation.

  • Maintain accurate records: 

This includes attendance registers, incident reports, and communication logs.

  • Liaise with parents/carers: 

This includes supporting the Lead Playworker to communicate effectively about club activities, addressing any concerns, and building positive relationships.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant childcare legislation and safeguarding policies.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the after-school club. This may include identifying areas for improvement, developing new activities, and sourcing new resources.

If you have information to declare it may be protected under the Exceptions Orders and you may not be required to declare it. You will be asked to make a criminal conviction declaration if you are shortlisted for the post.
