We are looking for someone who:

  • Is committed to becoming a truly excellent teacher;

  • Can plan and deliver lessons and sequences of lessons to the highest standard that ensure real learning takes place and students make superior progress;
  • Is able to raise attainment and challenge students to achieve their best;
  • Has a commitment to extra-curricular activities;
  • Is aware of current initiatives in primary education;
  • Is an effective team member who can contribute positively to the work in our school and our curriculum;
  • Is a music specialist (desirable, though not essential);
  • Is creative and energetic with a good sense of humour;
  • Is able to forge good relationships with students and staff;
  • Is able to work hard and remain calm under pressure;
  • A desire to work within the Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) structure.

The Avenue Primary School and Children’s Centre is looking for a creative and inspiring PPA Class Teacher to join its dedicated team on a maternity cover contract, with effect from February 2024. Experience in music is desirable, though not essential for the role.

We are a vibrant co-educational, non-denominational primary school, educating children between the ages of 3 and 11. Located in the charming garrison town of Warminster, Wiltshire, our staff are dedicated to creating a safe and exciting place for children to thrive and learn. We take the success of every child very personally and offer a wide range of opportunities to help them develop as confident members of our school community. In January 2023, we were proud to have retained our ‘Good’ Ofsted rating and were praised for being a fully inclusive school where everyone is respected and treated fairly. We are part of the Acorn Education Trust, which provides exciting opportunities to collaborate and improve local education.

The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and classroom skills and be able to teach across the full age and ability range within our school. A team player, you will provide PPA support for teachers across the school. QTS status is essential for this role.
