PPA/Cover Teacher job summary

Fixed term contract end date 19th April 2026

We are looking to recruit a PPA Cover teacher to join our Y5/6 team working across the 3 classes.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference to children’s lives and their futures. It is a chance to join a supportive team trying to ensure all children reach their potential. We are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible teacher, who understands the importance of relationships in education.

Our children thrive with adults who are friendly, firm and fair, and we are seeking an experienced UKS2 teacher who is calm, consistent and committed. Being able to identify with our school vision and values is also essential for all our staff.

The role involves releasing each teacher across our three parallel Y5/6 classes (half a day each per week).

This would be Thursdays (all day) and one other afternoon per week (to be agreed).

PPA Cover teachers are made to feel very much the valuable part of the teaching team that they are and would be able to access INSET and other (training) opportunities.

There is also the option of becoming one of our casual teachers to cover absence, training and other planned release across KS2 (and KS1 if desirable)

We can offer you:

  • children who will make you smile everyday
  • a commitment to professional development and career progression
  • a school where staff enjoy working as part of a team
  • a supportive and encouraging Leadership Team
  • an excellent Employee Assistance Programme offering a wealth of professional advice & support
  • the support of a Trust who like us, values its employees and respects our school’s individuality

Applicants should:

  • be a strong classroom practitioner with a clear understanding of the provision necessary for successful teaching and learning
  • have high expectations of pupils’ learning and behaviour
  • have the ability to communicate effectively and positively with pupils and staff

We warmly encourage visits to our school so you can see for yourself all we can offer. Please contact the school office to arrange a convenient time.

The Partnership Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
